Frequency curve at 15 degree, no smoothing:

Yes, I’m using MiniDSP board to filter and EQ. To get 50hz in room I boost 7db with Q= 0,5. This alignement acts as a dipole <200hz.

Yes, below 200hz it acts like dipole, so I have to boost below that frequency. I like dipole bass very much, but also want to have good integration. This alignment gives both and it has the other advantage that cardioid can presurize the room like a monopole. Concept has both advantages of a dipole and monopole.

You can experiment by putting damping material behind the woofers. It has to damp back wave for say 10db to already have a cardioid pattern matching your waveguide. Like done here:

Of course you have to make some changes to your crossover.

Yes, I first used a dipole configuration with DSP. This cardioid alignment has a directivity pattern that has a better match to a waveguide / horn. Goal was constant directivity and good integration, below 200hz it acts as a dipole again.

The only thing that you always can complain about regarding waveguides is that you want them to go lower! On the others hand than issues arrive at the high frequencies. Anyway integration with the LO15 is excellent, so I think the SEOS-15 is the optimum waveguide.

It is a real different way of listening to music when CD is applied, much more detail due to lower room influences. It just sounds like it should to be, not over detailed or shouting, but very involving.

2.5 is a good idea, but what do you think about intermodulation distortion? Maybe better to use the LO15 between 80 and 1000hz and a Dipole 15 / IB15 in U-frame below 80hz?

    LO15 is currently playing 40 – 1000hz with Econowave B&C DE250 sounding excellent!!! (filter via MiniDSP -48db)

Ok that is good news John! How do I order the LO15? It is not in the store.

I know the MiniDSP. A very nice product!

    Thank you Simon!
I do not mind some delay if I get a mail that explains why. Giving status updates prevents allot of questions. 🙂

I understand, but what does that do for efficiency? Are there parameters that change? ❓

The Dipoles are now on the site (not yet in the store)!

I read that the have a dual 8 ohm coil, in series 16 ohm. Does this mean that they are 16 ohm drivers? That is a high load for an amp…..
