    Thank you John,
When I say pair, I mean, left & right as stereo subs, not two in one box.

So, SBP 15 or TD18 for best sound quality 30-300hz in around 100l sealed ?
Come on John, which ones do I go for ? 8)

    Kind regards
    Jason

Ideally about 100 litres max per cabinet but I’m prepared to go larger if need be,I’ll just have to get creative with the styling & integration to the room 😯

    Cheers John

    Hi John,
I hope you are well & all is good.

Thank you very much for your advice, i loved my 8xIB15″ sub so I’ll gladly go with your suggestion again this time around,
i’d love a pair of your TD18″s but I know it’s pointless if another model is a better option for my application.

I know you are always very busy & I don’t expect your expertise for free so I’d be happy to pay you for a design you think would match with my speakers,(I know you can’t hear my speakers for yourself & I won’t hold you to anything 😛 )
If that is something you’d consider I could email you the specs of the drivers in my speakers/amp etc & pay upfront for the design before ordering the woofers ?

Basically I need a pair of sealed woofers, which will be left/right front corner placed to go with my on wall speakers, covering say 30-300hz as cleanly as possible,DSP available on woofer amp (Behringer NU6000) & Room Correction/crossover on integrated amp (Lyngdorf TDA2170)

    Kind regards
    Jason

    Hi Simon,
i’m in the UK,we use 230volt ac,2400watts divided by 230volts = 10.4amps so no problem with available current for max power 🙂

    Hi John,
i am using a qsc rmx2450,with the four drivers they were wired two in parallel per channel (4ohms) and now with the eight they are wired four in parallel per channel (2ohms).

i’m guessing the qsc does not double its power with each halving of the load, therefore each driver is receiving a little less power with the same input sensitivity ? 😕

i’ve had no problems though and it sounds incredible

Well, i finally got around to building a new manifold & i’m now running 8 IB 15”s,it was stunning with 4 IB15”s but now its simply awesome 😀

After adding the extra drivers i was expecting the power amps input sensitivity (or pre/pro output level) to require some backing off but infact i had to raise the level to maintain the same output as with the 4 drivers, any idea how come John ?

Regardless of the level surprise,i’m running a denon avp-a1hd with Audyssey multeq xt & sound quality is way better than i ever thought possible

Thanks again to AE for such a great product & excellent support

    Hi Rick,
I have an IB loaded with four AEIB 15″s & i would highly recommend you do go with four drivers, the value for money is superb & sound quality is stunning.I have bought another four to make an eight driver IB as i like to play loud & feel its well worth another 400 for the headroom.
    Good luck with you’re project.
    jason.

    Hi all,
I would like to add another four ib15″s to my subbass system taking the total to eight, will i be able to run four on each channel of my QSC rmx-2450 for a 2ohm load,i am guessing that although a tougher load for the amp it will not be pushing as hard as it would with four drivers for a given level ?

    Nice post Chris,
I have to agree with you, although i have only had my four ib 15″s up and running for a couple of weeks with no eq or fine tuning of phase etc i am totally thrilled with the sound quality, time i should have spent installing the sms-1 has been spent listening to music instead but i dont think its a bad idea to get used to the new found sound of clean bass before i introduce the eq.
Cant wait to add another four 😈

    Thanks John,
your advice has been greatly appreciated,i can get the qsc amps for a reasonable price here in the uk so i’m pleased you have recommended them.
    Another question,if i may ?
as my plenum will be close to a wall along one side i would like to mount the drivers on that side magnet inwards/magnet out on opposing side,is this really ok to have them in effect working the wrong way round ? i know ChrisBee has this arrangement but the ib15’s seem to have more travel when the cone is moving away from the magnet,i really dont want to screw up my beautiful drivers.

    Hi John,
Thank you for your advice, would the rmx-2450 be too much ? its just that i would prefer to know the amp is running well within its limits with current in reserve on transients, also notice that the output stage is class h instead of classAB on the lower models (whatever that means ?).

As impedance changes with frequency would it also be safe to assume the amp would see 2 ohms fairly often & therefore needs to be stable into this load ?

    Hope business is good
    regards jason
