Thanks John. These will be playing down to 20hz and perhaps a little below in an actively crossed over 3 way system. I have a high pass filter in place with a MiniDSP 2×8. I wanted to use 3 OB15’s per side to attain higher SPL without stressing the drivers too much. They will be playing as high as 300hz. Do you think 150 watts per driver would be sufficient?
I am about to receive my Dipole6 drivers and deciding on a suitable tweeter. My frontrunners are the ESS Heil AMT or the RAAL 140-15D Dipole. The Raal is definitely cost prohibitive but I want to do this right the first time around (I know I know, yeah right, nothig is done the first time in DIY 😉 However, the price of the Selenium driver above is very appealing. I know that would not be a true dipole solution but since I would be crossing over at 3khz, I do not believe that I truly need dipole above this point, correct?
Any input is greatly appreciated. I wish I had the budget to evaluate them all 🙂
