temperature and passive radiators

    What effect does temp have on overall box tuning. I’ve noticed by setup is much louder when the temp outside in the 80’s and 90’s.. I’m not the only one who notices it and I have heard it from people without saying a word to them except turning it up, I know it’s not in my head.. I assume the warmer air being less dense increases the apparent volume of the box, but how is it changing my passives tuning? Just trying to figure out how to replicate it during colder months as it’s a pretty nice change.

    Usually, very cold air will make surround and spiders go stiffer, which kills the bass. That’s why audio in a very cold car sounds like crap, until the car warms up 15 minutes later.

    Is that what you are talking about ? Winter temperatures ?

    Unfortunately, there’s not much you can do about it…
